EdithCOOKIt is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Edith Cook on November 6, at the age of 92. Born in 1933, Edith was a woman of remarkable independence and spirited personality. She dedicated many years to her work as a slipper machinist at Lambert and Howarth, and her zest for life was evident in her love for travel, weekend getaways to Blackpool, and coach trips. Edith also had a passion for darts, bowling, bingo, and snooker, often enjoying these activities at the Rams Head Pub and Staghills Bowling Club. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to Cancer Research UK, a cause close to Edith's heart. Only family flowers will be present. Edith was predeceased by her beloved husband, Clifford, and is survived by her three children-Clifford, Janet, and Derek-along with five grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. A celebration of Edith's life will be held at Burnley Crematorium on November 18, at 12.15pm. Edith will be deeply missed but forever cherished in the hearts of those who knew her. Funeral director: Dawn Winfield Dip L.M.B.I.F.D, Fred Hamer Funeral Service.
